UPNA Annual Meeting and Potluck Dinner October 28th

UPNA’s Annual Meeting and Potluck Dinner. The event will be held at the United Church of Gainesville, Rymer Hall, 1624 NW 5th Avenue, Gainesville, on Sunday afternoon, October 28, 2018, from 4:00-7:00 PM. Child care will be provided. Voluntary annual dues of $20.00 will also be accepted and sincerely appreciated (the funds help pay for such events).

Following a brief business meeting and election of new officers, we will hear from the Hon. Lee Pinkoson, Chairman of the Alachua County Board of County Commissioners regarding the work of the County Commission. We will also hear from Ms. Stephanie Marchman, a local attorney, regarding the proposed amendments to the Florida Constitution, from Ms. Murray Laurie, a well-regarded local Historiographer, regarding the National Register of Historic Places application process, and honoring Ms. Arnall Downs, whose log home on NW 8th Avenue is the most recent recipient of this recognition.

We will also present the Hope Award(s) to those being recognized for beautification and home improvement.

That said, the “main event” will be the family food and fellowship enjoyed with our neighbors. Bring a dish to share.
