The UPNA held it’s Annual Meeting Sunday October 18th 4:00 – 6:00 PM. This year Gainesville City Commissioner (At Large) Gail Johnson joined former UVA School of Architecture Dean and UF Faculty Senate Chair Kim Tanzer, FAIA and former UF School of Design, Construction and Planning Associate Dean Peggy Carr in an interactive discussion about threats to Gainesville single-family neighborhoods posed by the new Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) ordinance, the possible end of the “three unrelated persons” occupancy limit in rental housing, and City Commission plans to implement “inclusionary zoning”.  Commissioner Johnson also discussed her call for a moratorium on development in order to ensure equity.

The recorded discussions are in the next post.
